Pipe Management Australia (PMA) was contracted for a critical infrastructure project in Central Queensland, involving the construction of vent stack pipes, the application of protective coatings to manholes, and the rehabilitation of trunk mains.
A Full Suite of Services
The project included a comprehensive 10km CCTV inspection to assess the condition of the sewer system and the subsequent relining of vent pipes. This project was essential for maintaining the integrity of the local sewer infrastructure, ensuring the system’s long-term functionality and preventing potential environmental hazards. PMA’s full 360-degree service approach, from initial assessment to project completion, was a key factor in being awarded the tender, as it provided the client with a streamlined and efficient process.

Challenges and Solutions – The PMA Way
Unpredictable Weather Conditions: Site access was affected by weather, so we prioritised efficient planning and work execution to minimise delays.
Remote Location: The remote site posed logistical challenges, but thorough preparation and collaboration ensured timely procurement of materials and accommodation for the team.
Cattle and Mining Property: The site location required us to work within a mining corridor, and we engaged with the local mining community to minimise disruptions.
Unique Regional Challenges: We leveraged our industry connections to provide tailored solutions specific to the region’s unique challenges.

Project Outcomes
The project resulted in the successful relining of 6 manholes, a thorough 10km CCTV inspection, and the relining of 800 metres of DN600 pipe using spiral technology.
PMA Advantage and Benefits to Our Client and Community
PMA provided significant value through our 360-degree service, the use of advanced GIS technology, and the expertise of our technical services team. We converted the 10km of CCTV footage into actionable rehabilitation methods, implemented before the wet season, and sourced high-quality international relining materials.
Our work ensured the sustainability of the client’s sewer system, protecting the community from potential environmental hazards such as sewer leaching into nearby waterways, and contributing to long-term infrastructure reliability.
